The man in Antarctica

If there is a place in the world that I dream of being able to visit some day, this place is the Antarctica. I have the sensation that the world there stops, that nothing of what here we possess there us belongs, and that the chromatic perception that we have of the planet in that place is alone white. The history of the Antarctica might be like that of any other continent of the land but his inaccessibility and his conditions  have done that was remaining excluded from the occupation of the man. While the life in the planet has advanced in the human, cultural and social evolution, the Antarctica has remained removed from the fingerprint of the man and therefore from all the conflicts in the history of the humanity for establishing borders. It is exemplary to find a corner in the land where in a harmonious way everything has evolved towards the balance far from the interests of the world and to except of everything what is not own of the nature.

The Antarctica is a different place in the planet, his mystery us turns out to be attractive to the human being because it is inaccessible.  The natural mechanisms of defense that it uses to be protected are so complex of deciphering that he supposes a guarantee of future and conservation in the land. The last year the “Hespérides” the Spanish oceanographic vessel prepared to realize scientific investigations in all the seas and oceans of the planet set sail of the soft Don Juán de Borbón in Cartagena(Spain)  to the South Pole, with the aim to put into practice the Antarctic Spanish Campaign 2012-2013. Prevee that the expedition will come to Mar’s city of Silver (Argentina) and to the Top Sands (Chile) in the middle of next December.  During these months it will develop projects of investigation that will include vulcanology, seismology, glaciology, geology, biology, climate change and the impact of the activity humanizes in the Antarctica.

Most of the time coinciding with the austral summer they will establish his center of investigation in the Antarctic Spanish Bases, “Juan Carlos I” in the Island Livingston’s and managed by the CSIC (Top Advice of Scientific Investigations) and the base ” Gabriel of Castile ” in Isla Decepción managed by the army of land, then to continue in the Islands Shetland of the South and Bransfield’s Strait. There have been fulfilled now 25 years that a group of Spanish members of an expedition were installing the first base to happen there the months of the Antarctic summer, since then already be in scientific projects, programs of investigation or follow-up of the effects of the climate change called the contact with the Antarctica from Spain has never got lost.

In December 1, 1959, twelve countries signed in Washington the Agreement Antarctic that entered force on June 23, 1961. From his entry into force, 50 countries have signed it of which 28 are A Consultative Part (members of right plenary session with voice and vote). Spain adhirió in 1982, and it was admitted as Consultative Part in 1988. Only the time will say to us the repercussions that the depredation humanizes they will stop in the planet, the consequences of this slow extermination that the man they have pledged in executing, alone I hope and wish to be in time of considering the respect to the natural life.
